This book was almost
an immediate sellout when it was first published in 1982. Since then,
there has been an increasing demand for its re-issuance. For this new
edition, Tornado Creek Publications has included additional historical
information and many new photographs, yet the essential core remains
Jim McGoldrick's original popular account of the formative period of
Spokane aviation. At the age of 10, he had already been an impassioned
student of aviation and was excitedly at the fairgrounds to greet the
famous Charles Lindbergh when he flew into Spokane on September 12,
1927. Following that encounter, aviation would play a major role in
Jim McGoldrick's life - and he in Spokane's aviation history. From that
time forward, he came to know firsthand virtually all the important
people and events connected with Spokane aviation and would become a
major booster of the city's aviation development. The Spokane Aviation
Story is an excellent and major contribution to the region's history
- told on a personal level by a man who was there to witness much of
it unfold.
